In drawing up the family history of the Carroll family I was able to review the work of my great grandfather John Thomas Carroll and his grandson Colin O’Carroll (then living in South Africa. I inherited a red covered folder which contained the correspondence from Edward Carroll in Cincinnati, who set out in some detail the traditions of how the Carrolls from Antrim emigrated to Ohio. My transcription of these letters are on this website.
